It helps enormously if you include your device model, your iOS or Android version, the app version from Profile, and — for a scoring question — the product name and barcode.
Scores and products
Why does this product have no score?
Scores are built from public data. If a barcode is not yet in Open Food Facts, or its entry has no nutrition or ingredient information, PureCheck cannot score it. Open Food Facts is community-maintained, so adding the product there fixes it for everyone.
I think a score is wrong
Usually this means the source record is out of date — a reformulation, or an ingredient list that was never filled in. Email us the product name and barcode and we will check the record and our handling of it. See how scoring works for what goes into the number.
Why does the same product score the same everywhere?
By design. A product shows one score across search, Today’s picks, alternatives, history and its detail page. If you ever see two different numbers for the same item, that is a bug — please tell us.
The barcode will not scan
Give the camera good light, hold steady until the frame locks, and keep the whole barcode inside the guides. Curved or crinkled packaging is the usual culprit. You can always use manual search instead, and check that camera access is enabled for PureCheck in your device settings.
Water reports
Why does my ZIP show more than one utility?
ZIP boundaries and water-system service areas are not the same shape, so a ZIP can be served by several public systems. PureCheck shows the systems reported for that ZIP.
Does this tell me about the water in my home?
No. A report describes a public water system based on the utility’s filings. It cannot measure what comes out of your tap, because building plumbing — lead service lines in particular — can change it. For that you need a test of your own water.
Why is a report empty or old?
Utilities file on their own schedule, and some records lag. PureCheck shows the most recent data available for the system and labels the report year.
Purchases and restores
How do I restore a purchase?
Open Profile and choose Restore purchases, signed in with the same Apple Account or Google account you bought with.
How do I cancel or get a refund?
Purchases are handled by the Apple App Store and Google Play, not by us. Cancel in your store account’s subscription settings, and request refunds through that store — Apple via reportaproblem.apple.com, Google via Play’s order history. We are happy to help you with a request, but we cannot issue a store refund ourselves.
Account and data
How do I delete my account?
Profile → Delete account. That removes your account record, profile, preferences and history. Individual history entries can be removed from the History tab. Full detail is in the privacy policy.
What do you collect?
As little as possible: no advertising trackers, no precise location, and nothing sold to anyone. The privacy policy lists it item by item.
Accessibility
PureCheck supports Dynamic Type, VoiceOver and TalkBack, and reduced-motion settings. If something is hard to read or reach, tell us — accessibility reports go to the top of the queue.
Report a problem
Bugs, data errors, and security issues all go to support@purecheck.fit. For a suspected security or privacy vulnerability, please write “security” in the subject line and give us reasonable time to fix it before disclosing it publicly.
